Product Description

This Wireless IR Remote Shutter Release Controller is a versatile tool which allows you to control the shutter of your camera from afar in a various number of ways:1) Shutter Release Cable Setup - Connecting the transmitter directly to your camera via the remote cord provides a shutter release button providing a means to avoid camera shake when the shutter button is pressed.2) IR Wireless Shutter Release Setup - Achieved by attaching the receiver to your camera's hot shoe, then connecting the remote cord between the camera and the receiver. The camera shutter can then be controlled wirelessly from up to 8meters. OK, I'll be honest: I'm the type of person who does not read instructions. As such, I have gotten the IR shutter controls to work one time, then I changed something and it doesn't work now. Definitely NOT the product, because it DID work fine at reasonable range. It works flawlessly as a corded shutter release. It is fantastic for long exposure shots, as you can open the shutter, , come back in 15 minutes or whatever you need, and end the exposure. Overall, this is good for an amateur who wants to minimize camera shake with a wired off camera shutter control, and for remote wireless actuation, such as including yourself in a group photo. I would not use this in an application where a malfunction or missed shot is the end of the world, that's what pro gear is for. This is worth it if you want a cheap way to accomplish the above.
