I assume they've had either production line problems or have found technical problems with the product. I gave it 3 stars, kind of a gentleman's C, since I haven't used it;)For comparison, recently I purchased two routers from Amazon, the Linksys E4200 and the Netgear N900 (aka WNDR4500), which are direct competitors to the D-Link MR 3000. In my testing the Netgear is significantly better than the Linksys with respect to wireless signal strength on any chanel. And I found the Netgear very easy to set up and change settings via the browser, while the Linksys required a call to customer service to get it working. Additionally, the Netgear is meant to be stood up vertically and has pretty blinking LED's, which I still prefer to see on my routers.
